Promoting & Facilitating Aerospace & STEM Education in Cornwall.

Inspiring a new generation.

The Trust promotes the development of STEM and cross-curricula education in Cornwall and beyond.  We facilitate collaboration between the education and private sectors to provide immersive, practical learning opportunities in aerospace, engineering and space technology.

Education through inspiration.

What is 'STEM'?

'STEM' is an abbreviation for Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics. STEM education is all about connecting traditional classroom activities with inspirational experiences and opportunities.

Instead of treating science, technology, engineering and mathematics as separate subjects, STEM provides a cross-disciplinary, problem solving approach which has been proven to be an effective way of learning.

Partnership & Collaboration

Cornwall Aerospace Education Trust (CAET) are focussed on developing long lasting partnerships with organisations with an appetite to support the trust's aims through collaboration and the sharing of resources to optimise learning opportunities in aerospace related subjects for young people in Cornwall & beyond.

CAET are closely aligned with our pioneer strategic partner, Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre based at the former airfield of RAF St. Mawgan near Newquay. The air museum has a large collection of ex-military aircraft, engines and space related exhibits.

The Cornwall Aerospace Education Trust would welcome the approach of any additional organisations interested in learning more about potential collaborations and sponsorship opportunities.

Inspirational learning

In conjunction with our strategic partners at Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre, CAET are able to provide schools and youth groups with the exclusive use of the air museum's facilities to conduct STEM and cross-curricula based learning.

The Cornwall Aviation Heritage Centre provides a hands-on learning experience for schools and colleges allowing visitors to see physics in action whilst climbing into real aircraft, examining aerospace engines and learning about the principles of flight through several practical challenges.
